creation of shrimps. Fishing village since its foundation, the name
appeared due the great amount of fish-rooster and the fishing
agglomeration that was if forming in the beach to fish them. Galinhos is
only accessible from the sea or by buggy (not included)*,
becoming almost an island. It is well worth viewing the sea below from
the heights, and, looking behind us, the immensity of the dunes. More to

Pirangi
The Capital
of the state of Rio Grande do Norte, Natal is situated on the banks of
the River Potengi, close to its estuary on the Atlantic Ocean, a sandy
area, with dunes and coves protected by a cordon of reefs along the
beach which follow the coast. In 1597, a fleet commanded by Jerônimo de
Albuquerque arrived in the estuary, with the mission of founding a town
and building a fort to secure Portugal’s possession and drive off the
French who were trading with the Rio Grande do Norte Indians. The Three
Kings Fort was started in 1598. A town, which in 1599 was baptized Natal
(Christmas) in honour of its foundation day, was constructed one league
from the fort. In 1633 the city fell to the Dutch and its economic
progress died. The Tourist Centre, in the old gaol, contains artisan
shops and a stage for folkloric spectacles. City tour and lunch (not

set amongst the dunes where the famous sports of “aerobunda” and
“skibunda” (seated boarding) can be enjoyed. There is an excellent
menu to choose from at the Naf-Naf restaurant in Jacumã, on the coast.

6. (Fri) - Natal / João Pessoa.
Morning
departure for the Paraiba capital, the third urban centre to be created
in Brazil, João Pessoa registers in its history the influence of the
French, Dutch and Portuguese. It is an important tourist centre in the
Northeast, as besides having beautiful beaches, it is one of the cities
with the most trees in the world. At Ponta dos Seixas, next to White
Cape, on Tambaú beach you will find the most easterly point of South
America. Among its many baroque monuments, the Franciscan complex, which
was started in 1589, stands out. Cabedelo owes its name to the fine-sand
dunes which form on its beaches. From the colonial past, the church of
Our guiding Lady (XVI Cent) and the Santa Catarina Fort stand out. We
would suggest a swim from the The Island of Red Sand and the fantastic

39kms from Recife, located in the region where the first exploration
during the Portuguese colonization took place. It is notable for its

for the Saints Cosme and Damião, whose church is the oldest still
standing in Brazil (1535). We will visit the famous Itamaracá Island

we continue on to the Porto de Galinhas, paradise that charms everyone.
It is a place that harbors a bountiful nature. This place of the coast

beauties is taking Boat to tours, which can only be made during low tide.
In addition to warm waters, natural pools and blue skies for great part
of the year, Porto de Galinhas is surrounded by a coconut tree line that

10. (Tues) – Maragogi After
breakfast, we continue on to the Alagoan, where reefs, extensive coconut
groves and primitive beaches. The last stop of the northern coast is
special for diving lovers. Maragogi is located at 136km from the capital
Maceió. Tourists should take a boat tour to the called galés, which
are the reefs of rich flora and fauna. As the boat docks (not included)*,
tourists can already perceive the dimension of Maragogi’s beauty. The
guides say that Maragogi has America’s largest continuous coral bank.
There are several corals with different tonalities giving a special
coloring to the water. During low tide, it does not get deeper as a
meter and a half.*

to the historic city of Marechal Deodoro, 31kms from Maceió, with its
important architectural, artistic and religious heritage from colonial

was born. The principal attractions are the Convent of St. Francisco
(1684), the original church of N.S. da Conceição (1755) and the Museum
of Sacred Art, sited in a XVIII Century Franciscan convent. The city is
sited by Lake Manguaba, with its marshy islands, boat trips and bars. We
go on to the French Beach with its warm and crystal waters.*

breakfast visit to Penedo, to see the historic sights of the city .

reference from Brazilian colonial time. Then, a trip in catamaran (not
included)* to the paradise of St.
Francisco River estuary, with its deep, green waters. Old “Chico” is
an icon that is part of Penedo’s local folklore. Lunch is on board (not

Day 1. (Sun) - Recife / Historic Tour / Olinda. Visit to the city, including the beaches, Boa Viagem Church, the Capibaribe and Beberibe Rivers and the Golden Chapel. Trip to the Cinco Pontas Fort, streets Sol and Aurora (Old Recife), Brum Fort, Pátio de St. Pedro, Campo das Princesas, the Maurício de Nassau Bridge (the oldest in Brazil). Visit to the city of Olinda - Historic and artistic monument (said title awarded by UNESCO), the Heights and church da Sé (1537), the old slave market, the steep streets and convent of St. Francisco (1585). Return to hotel* Obligatory supplement tickets churches and Synagogue. Day 2. (Mon) - Recife / Igarassu / Itamaracá / João Pessoa. Igarassu, 39kms from Recife, located in the region where the first exploration during the Portuguese colonization took place. It is notable for its religious festivals, such as the Buscada de St. Gonçalo do Amarante and for the Saints Cosme and Damião, whose church is the oldest still standing in Brazil (1535). We will visit the famous Itamaracá Island and the Orange Fort, from where we can cross over to Coroa do Avião to enjoy bathing sports and delicious seafood. (Tues) - João Pessoa / Pipa / Natal. Morning departure for the Paraiba capital, we’ll visit the Center Cultural San Francisco (1589), it took almost 200 years to be ready. Its baroque set is composed for the Church of San Francisco, Convent of Saint Antonio and Museum of Popular Culture, that it has permanent expositions of parts of the folklore, and sacred art. Pipa is a fishing village discovered by surfers in the 1970’s, is one of the most frequented beaches in the state with bars and restaurants to liven the nightlife. The fishing village has incredible natural beauty with colourful half-submerged rocks, fine sands, and tepid transparent waters, not to mention the dolphins, which can be seen playing around the rocks. The Nature Reserve of Quarry Beach Marine Turtles is an ecological sanctuary. Overnight in Natal. The Capital of the state of Rio Grande do Norte, Natal is situated on the banks of the River Potengi, close to its estuary on the Atlantic Ocean, a sandy area, with dunes and coves protected by a cordon of reefs along the beach which follow the coast. In 1597, a fleet commanded by Jerônimo de Albuquerque arrived in the estuary, with the mission of founding a town and building a fort to secure Portugal’s possession and drive off the French who were trading with the Rio Grande do Norte Indians. A town, which in 1599 was baptized Natal (Christmas) in honour of its foundation day, was constructed one league from the fort. In 1633 the city fell to the Dutch and its economic progress died. The Tourist Centre, in the old gaol, contains artisan shops and a stage for folkloric spectacles. A stop to see the largest Cashew tree in the world. Tickets not included. The beach 32kms north of Natal offers optimum bathing conditions as the sea is calm and clear. Jacumã also offers a complex of fixed and moving white and golden sand dunes where tourists can have an emotional ramble and also visit the Jacumã Lake (not included)* set amongst the dunes where the famous sports of “aerobunda” and “skibunda” (seated boarding) can be enjoyed. There is an excellent menu to choose from at the Naf-Naf restaurant in Jacumã, on the coast. This is the most charming place on the North Littoral!! Optional supplement paid to Buggy Tour. Day 6. (Fri) - Natal / Galinhos / Canoa Quebrada. Morning trip to Galinhos, peninsula surrounded by dunes, salt-pan and river. In Galinhos the hinterland finds the sea. It’s only visit the outskirts to see the vegetation characteristic of the two regions. It has mangroves, salt mines and creation of shrimps. Fishing village since its foundation, the name appeared due the great amount of fish-rooster and the fishing agglomeration that was if forming in the beach to fish them. Galinhos is only accessible from the sea or by buggy (not included)*, becoming almost an island. It is well worth viewing the sea below from the heights, and, looking behind us, the immensity of the dunes. More to the front, the river cutting through the mangroves.
